LLLT Has been used worldwide for over 50 years to relive pain, reduce scaring, heal wounds and regenerate nerves. In 2002 the first U.S. LLLT company, Erchonia, the same laser we use in our office, received FDA clearance through clinical trial. The study took 100 patients complaining of neck and shoulder pain, half were treated with a plain red LED light similar to a light on a computer mouse (control group), the other half were treated with LLLT. The treatment group improved 66% faster and more complete than the control group! This type of study is called a “double blind” study and is considered the gold standard for measuring validity in a research study. Similar studies were passed by the FDA for carpel tunnel, wound and scar tissue. There are over 200 published studies on LLLT reporting no negative side effects. How does it work?
Housed within the mitochondria of each cell (a.k.a. the power house of the cell) are receptors capable of absorbing distinct parameters of light. When the cell is exposed to a particular color of light, these receptors cause a reaction that promotes energy production, protein and growth factor synthesis, cell growth and proliferation as well as enhanced blood and oxygen flow, an ideal environment to promote healing and efficient cell function. LLLT uses laser light, a more pure form of light, as such, is able to penetrate tissue much more effectively than LED or other forms of light. This results in a much better (66%) response as noted in the above research study.
Common Reason to Use LLLT:
- Wound Healing.
- Nerve & Disc Pain/Injury.
- Headaches & Migraines.
- Neuropathy.
- Scar Tissue.
- Speed Sports Injury Recovery.
- Carpel Tunnel.
- Pain Management.
- Co-treat Fungal Infections.
- Concussion Recovery.
- Improve Ligament Injury Recovery.
